On Monday evening, October 22, the Wilson Mainstage will take a temporary break from its current status as the study of Dr. Sigmund Freud, and play host to the 5th annual SIS Laugh Out Loud Event.
This event raises much needed funds for SIS (Sustain-Inspire-Survive) to support those in our area battling breast cancer. The evening kicks off at 5:30pm with pre-show cocktails, food and entertainment provided by John Akers, and a silent auction with items donated by some of Rochester’s best businesses. The show begins in the Wilson Mainstage at 7pm with a selection of the country’s funniest comedians.
SIS was founded in 2005 by breast cancer survivor Andrea Caruso. It is a non-profit organization created to meet the often overlooked financial needs of individuals in the Greater Rochester area enduring treatment for breast cancer. SIS provides financial grants for immediate needs such as medical co-pays, mortgage, rent, utilities, groceries and more. Geva has hosted the “Laugh Out Loud” event since its inception.
Comedians set to appear in the Wilson Mainstage on Monday night include Joe DeVito (“Last Comic Standing,” Comedy Central), Andy Pitz (“Late Show with David Letterman,””The Late Late Show”), Maria Borgio (HBO’s “Man in the Box.””New York Underground Comedy Festival”), Melvin George (“An Evening at the Improv,” HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam”) and, our MC for the evening, Mike Speirs (“Nobodies of Comedy” Tour).
Tickets are $40 (includes food and show) and are available at the Geva Box Office (232-Geva) or click here to book online and support a great cause.
