Making new musicals in Vermont #newmusical

photo-9This past week I was at a Artists Retreat for new musicals at the Weston Playhouse in Weston, Vermont.

13 new musical groups were selected to come to Weston and workshop new shows – in a beautiful city with a population of 400 – a city that prides itself on no internet, no cell phone coverage and that all the cheese is homemade. What else could you want to make a new musical?

photo4What’s exciting to me is that now Geva is getting asked to more and more of these workshops – people want to know what we’re working on, and allow their audiences to be a part of the excitement we create for ours.

Also, they know we love cheese.

photo-6I was working on a new one man musical entitled THE BRIDGE, where Benjamin Scheuer of the Escapist Papers is taking his auto-biographical songs and turning them into a show. You can listen to much of the music here:
